Objectives:

Participants will be able to demonstrate basic iPad shortcuts to efficiently use the iPads
Participants will be able to demonstrate and explain classroom management strategies for using the iPad
Participants will be able to explain the evaluation and selection process for apps for classroom use
Participants will be able to state district policies and expectations for using the iPads
Participants will be able to brainstorm and list possible iPad implementation ideas for their classroom
Participants will be able to explain the social, ethical and legal issues with using iPads in the classroom and the importance of modeling proper use.

iPad Settings

  • Gestures, Keyboards, Accessibility
  • How to collect student work - SimplTransfer, Dropbox & DropItToMe
    • SimplTransfer - Start the app and then type in the URL of the iPad on your laptop or desktop. HINT: Put the photos or videos you will transfer into a separate album on the camera roll
    • DropBox & DropItToMe- create an account on Dropbox. You can install the Dropbox feature on your laptop or desktop using Self Service.
      • Create an account on DropItToMe. Connect your dropbox to your DropItToMe account. Use the url http://dropitto.me/yourusername on the iPad and the students can select their images or movies to put into your Dropbox folder. On your dropbox account their work will be in your DropItToMe folder. Just drag and drop onto your laptop.
