March 11 - Formative Assessment Tools
This session will explore apps and resources that can be used for formative assessments and to score student projects, such as padlet, popplet, answer garden, nearpod, kahoot, plickers and more. If you have an iPad, bring it, but the session will include both apps and websites to use with laptops. Apps: Nearpod, Plickers, Popplet
March 17 - Using QR Codes As a Gateway to Learning Activities
Heard of QR codes or colleagues using QR codes and you want to learn more? This workshop will introduce you to QR codes and how to create and use them for instruction. Participants will create a QR code activity. App: QRafter
March 23 - Google Drive on the iPad
Ready to start using google docs with your students on the iPads? This workshop will introduce and extend your use of google drive on the ipad with your students to include typing in Google docs, recording video and images directly on the ipad and creating presentations with Google slide. March 25 - Doceri and blending the Classroom
Doceri is an interactive whiteboard and screencast recorder app for the iPad. In this session we will explore how to use Doceri, the ipad camera and the Stage app to create videos to use for stations, remediation, extension and/or to inform parents. This workshop will focus on using Voicethread effectively in the classroom including as an assessment tool. This workshop will review the Apple TV settings, how to connect your iPad and Apple TV through Airplay and explore best practices for using the Doceri and Stage apps in your classroom.

Session A: Best Practices for Blending Your Classroom
Heard of a flipped or blended classroom? What does this really mean? What tools are available to use to create videos that you already have at your fingertips? Where do you post videos? What expectations do you have for students? This beginning session is intended to give teachers an overview of some tools to use to create a flipped classroom and discussion on how a flipped classroom actually works. Dec 3 - AIS Approved - Customizing Google Chrome

A web browser is arguably one of the most powerful and important programs on your computer. This session will assist participants in customizing the Google Chrome web browser to work more effectively and efficiently for finding, managing, curating and sharing instructional resources with colleagues and students. During the session, participants will transfer and organize bookmarks / favorites from other browsers, create a structure for content curation, personalize browser settings for individual needs, and install both educational web apps and extensions for increased functionality. Please bring your laptop with you.

Dec 5 - Elem December Tech Academy 2014: Doceri & Blending the classroom

Doceri is an interactive whiteboard and screencast recorder app for the iPad. It contains tools for hand-drawn graphics and built-in remote desktop control of your laptop. Bring both your iPad and laptop to this session to get set up and learn to use Doceri. Stage is an app that turns your iPad into a document camera.

Dec 8 - AIS Approved - Schoology Self Directed

Ready to start building your course in Schoology but don't know where to begin? This self-paced session will go through the design process for an online course and you will build the resource folders for your Schoology course, work on posting files and links, You should bring your YAG document.

October 24, 2014 - Secondary Tech Academy


Capture Your Students' Attention: Presentation Tools for Engagement
This session will focus on apps and tools that can be used for teacher presentations in the single iPad classroom, such as Doceri, Popplet, Interactive Whiteboard apps, and more. If you have an iPad, bring it, but the session is not limited to those individuals as there will be iPads available to borrow. You will need to have the following apps installed on the iPad prior to the session - Doceri, Popplet, Stage by Belkin and Nearpod.

Schoology For Beginners
Ready to start building your course in Schoology but don't know where to begin? This slow-paced session will go through the design process for an online course and you will build the resource folders for your Schoology course and learn how to post files and links. We will not do quizzes in this workshop. You will need need your YAG document.

August Tech Academy 2014: Integration with Read180
We will have students at LMS and CMS using an reading intervention program, Read 180. These students will have their iPads 24/7 as part of this program. This workshop will explain the Reading 180 program and give you strategies on how to integrate the student iPads into your classroom instruction with students who are not part of the Read180 program.
